Strickland Charged With DUI; Wizards Guard Also Is Cited for Disorderly Conduct in District

Washington Wizards point guard Rod Strickland was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and disorderly conduct. Strickland, 31, entered a not guilty plea in D.C. Superior Court yesterday afternoon after spending the night in a central cell block at police headquarters. Hearing Commissioner Dennis Doyle released Strickland on personal recognizance and set a trial date of Jan. 21. If convicted, Strickland could face a penalty of up to $250 and 90 days in jail for the disorderly conduct charge; $300 and 90 days in jail for driving under the influence; and a $25 fine for a third charge, failure to exhibit a license.
