Pro Football Collins Apologizes After Dui Arrest

Kerry Collins doesn’t think he has a drinking problem, although he acknowledges he’s at a crossroads in his career. The New Orleans Saints’ new quarterback, arrested for drunken driving in Charlotte after an evening of drinking with his former teammates, apologized and admitted he was on the verge of blowing not only his second chance in the NFL, but possibly his last chance. “I realize that I’m at a critical juncture in my career as an NFL quarterback,'’ Collins said. “I’m very disappointed in myself and I’ve disappointed this organization. Gary Collins Arrested in DUI Case
TV host and actor Gary Collins was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence after a crash that police blamed on another driver, an 89-year-old man. Collins, 69, was booked after the crash Tuesday in the San Fernando Valley, Officer April Harding said. He was later released on $40,000 bond, authorities said. It wasn't immediately known whether Collins had retained an attorney. Attempts to locate Collins late Wednesday were unsuccessful. "He was not at fault in the accident," Harding said. City Liquor Chief Gets DUI Ticket
Eldon Audsley received a ticket Oct. 25 that alleges he was driving "while under the influence of alcohol and drugs to a degree which renders him incapable of safely operating a motor vehicle," records obtained by the Kansas City Star said. City Manager Bob Collins said Audsley was removed as city manager of regulated industries more than a week ago. Collins said Audsley was not fired and could return to the job.

Oakland Raider Coach Jon Gruden, charged with driving under the influence and facing possible punishment by the NFL, publicly apologized Wednesday for the incident. Gruden, 35, the youngest head coach in the league, was arrested while driving home a week ago from his team's victory over the San Diego Chargers. "I've apologized to the team. Former NFL Quarterback Warren Moon Charged With DUI
Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon was arrested for drunken driving after a trooper stopped him in downtown Kirkland for speeding last Friday at about 2 a.m., the State Patrol reported on Monday. After his arrest, Moon, 50, was taken to the Kirkland Police Department so troopers could test his blood alcohol level. Police will not release the test results until the King County prosecutor's office files charges. Moon has been an analyst on Seahawks radio broadcasts for the past three seasons.
