A little more than a year after Pennsylvania’s new drunken-driving law went into effect, DUI arrests have increased - and so has jail time for repeat offenders. The nearly 56,000 drivers arrested last year included more than 4,000 who would not have been charged under the old law. Those drivers had a blood-alcohol level of between 0.08 and 0.10 percent. Penalties under the old law began at 0.10. State courts, meanwhile, are still sorting out the impact of the measure on drivers Source : nl.newsbank.com |
