Former NFL Quarterback Warren Moon Charged With DUI

Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon was arrested for drunken driving after a trooper stopped him in downtown Kirkland for speeding last Friday at about 2 a.m., the State Patrol reported on Monday.

After his arrest, Moon, 50, was taken to the Kirkland Police Department so troopers could test his blood alcohol level. Police will not release the test results until the King County prosecutor’s office files charges.

Moon has been an analyst on Seahawks radio broadcasts for the past three seasons. He played 17 seasons and 208 games in the NFL with the Houston Oilers, Minnesota Vikings, Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs, retiring as a player after the 2001 season. He was with the Seahawks as a player in 1997 and 1998, playing in 25 games.

He entered the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, in August.

Moon led University of Washington to a 27-20 victory over Michigan in the 1978 Rose Bowl. He played with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League before going to the NFL in 1984, leading the Eskimos to five straight Grey Cup victories.
