Ty Pennington, host of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," pleaded no contest Friday in a misdemeanor drunken driving case. Pennington, 42, had been charged with two misdemeanor counts _ driving with a blood-alcohol level above the 0.08 percent limit and driving under the influence of alcohol. He pleaded no contest to the first count and the other count was dismissed, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the city attorney's office. Hilton Pleads No Contest in DUI Case
Paris Hilton was placed on 36 months probation and ordered to pay fines after pleading no contest Monday to alcohol-related reckless driving, a reduction of an original charge of driving under the influence. Hilton, 25, did not appear in court. The plea was entered by her attorneys Howard Weitzman and Shawn Chapman Holley, the city attorney's office said. Judge Michael Sauer also ordered her to attend an alcohol education program and imposed other conditions. He gave Hilton the option of reducing her probation to 24 months if she completed 40 hours of community service. No immediate decision was made on that option.
Actor Haley Joel Osment Pleads No Contest to DUI, Pot Charges
Haley Joel Osment pleaded no contest Thursday to misdemeanor drunken driving and drug possession charges resulting from a July accident in which he crashed his car into a mailbox. Superior Court Judge John Doyle sentenced the 18-year-old actor to three years probation and ordered Osment to spend 60 hours in an alcohol rehabilitation and education program, as well as attend at least 26 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings over a six-month period. Former San Jose Sharks forward Mark Bell has pleaded no contest to drunken driving and hit-and-run charges and will serve six months in a Santa Clara County jail, a prosecutor said Wednesday. [Jim Bowden] entered the written plea before a hearing Monday, according to court records. Neither Bowden nor his attorney appeared at the hearing.
