GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 3 —
Texas Gov. George W. Bush fought gamely through one of the
final days of his campaign today while aides struggled to defend his
lack of candor about a conviction 24 years ago for driving under the
influence of alcohol.
Bush went before cameras Thursday night to confirm the arrest
shortly after two Maine television stations found documentation of the
