[Jim Bowden] entered the written plea before a hearing Monday, according to court records. Neither Bowden nor his attorney appeared at the hearing.

Bowden, 44, was charged with DUI after failing a field sobriety test in the early hours of April 17, according to a police report. Bowden refused to take a breath-alcohol test.

Bowden’s fiancee, Joy Browning, faces charges of battery and resisting arrest arising from the same case. Browning, 36, allegedly struck a police officer twice after she was charged with battery on Bowden, who had scratches on his cheek and ear.
