The articles describing the handling of Judge Robert C. Bradley’s second drunk-driving arrest in less than a month clearly illustrate what is wrong with both our DUI laws and the application of “different laws for different people.” Choosing to drive drunk is not, never was and never will be a mistake. It is a crime. It is a deliberate choice that can only be made with a total disregard for others. It doesn’t matter whether the drunk driver is a judge, celebrity, doctor, lawyer or a Kennedy.
